The NBA’s annual All Star Game this year will be the 17th of February in Charlotte. The game can be watched at 8:00 ET on TNT on that day. After an interesting year of basketball in the association this year, it should make for a fun all star game.

The draft for the 68th annual all star game will be on Thursday, February 7th at 7:00 p.m. ET and will be televised in a TNT special. The two captain representing each conference will be Giannis Antetokounmpo (east) and Lebron James (west). The captains, starters, and benches (who are unknown, as of now) were voted on by the fans, media, and players. After averaging out their overall rating for those 3 categories, they rank players in order of their average.

First, the two captains will draft out the rest of their starting lineups, picking from the pool of 8. These 8 are Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker, Joel Embiid, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and James Harden. After that the captains will pick players to fill out their respective benches.

We can assume many top tier players, such as Russell Westbrook, Nikola Jokic, and Anthony Davis will be some of the players in this bench pool. We can assume players such as Bradley Beal, Ben Simmons, and Jimmy Butler will be included for their play this season. There is also a good chance for other players, including Kyle Lowry, Nikola Vucevic, Blake Griffin, Damian Lillard, and Karl Anthony Towns, to make the reserve squad.

Players such as Eric Bledsoe, Khris Middleton, Rudy Gobert, Draymond Green, Devin Booker, and Klay Thompson may find themselves either coming off the bench or watching the game from their couch. Each team will have 7 players off the bench, and any players who are originally selected and get injured will be replaced in time for the game.

With many players having the best years of their careers, it should make for an interesting game. Along with this, the NBA is using the captains drafting their team look for the second straight year, after being East vs West for it’s entire previous existence. So tune in to watch the game February 17th for an entertaining matchup with some of the league’s best!
