America’s favorite childhood TV show is back with a new spin-off on Netflix, and so far, there have been many mixed reviews. Thirteen episodes of “Fuller House” were released on February 26, 2016.

The show returned with most of its original actors such as Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), Uncle Jesse (John Stamos), Joey (Dave Coulier), Becky (Lori Loughlin), DJ (Candice Cameron Bure), Stephanie (Jodi Sweetin), Kimmy (Andrea Barber), and even the Katsopolis twins Nicky and Alex (Blake Tuomy-Wilhoit and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit).

Unfortunately, Michelle Tanner (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) did not make an appearance on the show as she is running her fashion empire in New York City. However, even though the Olsen twins do not make an appearance, the cast mentions them more than once in the show.

“At first, I was a bit disappointed that the Olsen twins declined the offer to be on the show, but now that I think about it, I do not think it would have been any better if they were on it. This comeback was amazing, and I wouldn’t do anything to change it,” says sophomore Stefani Scalisi.

Stamos is executive producing the series along with the show’s original producers Jeff Franklin Productions and Miller-Boyett Productions, in association with Warner Horizon Television for Netflix.

The show opened with almost the entire “Full House” family reunited for the final time before the family home is sold. However, when they realize that newly-widowed D.J. is struggling to cope with the pressure of raising three boys and holding down a full-time job as a veterinarian, Kimmy Gibbler and sister Stephanie Tanner offer to move in with her to help raise her family.

Sound familiar? Instead of three men, three women come together to raise the widowed woman’s three sons (instead of three daughters, as in the original).

In the show, Gibbler is a single mom with a daughter named Ramona (Soni-Nicole Bringas), and Stephanie is pursuing her career as a DJ.

“Fuller House” also included an interesting love triangle between DJ Tanner, former high school sweetheart Steve Hale (Scott Weinger), and a new addition to the original cast, Dr. Matt Harmon (John Brotherton), a veterinarian who works with D.J.

“Personally, I think I had my expectations too high because ‘Full House’ will forever be my favorite show. The only downside was the ending of this season,” says sophomore Olivia Minerva.

Fans are hoping that the continuation of “Fuller House” will satisfy their expectations.

That’s right, after a successful Season 1 launch last week, Netflix has ordered a second season of “Fuller House,” which they revealed via a fun announcement video.

Now that the series has been renewed for a second season, there is more hope that the Olsen twins could return, according to Franklin, who said earlier this year, “I tried. We all tried to persuade them to come and play. They decided not to at this time. We’re hopeful at some point in the future, they may change their minds and reprise Michelle. We only need one of them!”
